I sincerely welcome the members of the Korea-China Fashion Industry-Academy for visiting Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT), and I truly believe that this gathering will be significant in terms of the development of not only China, but also Korea and Asia's fashion.
There is no doubt that clothing is a strong indicator of culture, which is getting multiple and globalized. In this event, we will discuss clothing as a way of communication between cultures, nations, blocs, and individuals in terms of academia.
The exhibition and seminar will be illuminative and innovative in terms of its idea, and it will also have a strong impact in the field of fashion industry and education for the participating countries.
I wish the best to the event and to all of you, our respected guests; enjoy every moment spent here.

First of all, I hereby express my great appreciation and honor to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the International Fashion Show, Exhibition, and Seminar held here in Beijing, the capital city of China.
This meaningful event of 2012, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, is enlarging its value in celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China. Participation of the leading fashion schools of China is supporting the commemoration of this historic year.
Upon the positive activity of all and the members of the Korean-Chinese Fashion Education-Industrial Institute will bring this moment as an interchange of fashion interest between seven major countries in Asia. From sharing academic issues and trends in the fashion industry, I see the chance for the development of the relationship between Korea and China based on advanced fashion in Asia. All participating members are scholars and fashion experts from all over Asia, which elevates this event to a higher level and adds value.
Once again, I would like to deliver my thankful mind to all participants: Beijing Fashion Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Wuhan Textile University, Guangxi Arts Institute, Hainan University, and Sichuan Normal University.
