  • China and South Korea both belong to the countries along the Silk Road. They've had business dealings and a shared cultural heritage from the Shang and Zhou Dynasty onwards. Though each has their own national characteristics, there are mutual influences and many common similarities, especially between Chinese and South Korean clothing culture, we can find it even from just the pronunciation of 'Han Fu' and 'Han bok'. This forum was held in the context of Chinese 'One Belt and One Road' strategy and South Korean 'Eurasia Initiative'. We have common wishes for the forum to be a platform for Chinese and South Korean clothing industry colleagues to further cultural exchanges, enhance skills, and deepen friendship.

Driven by 'one belt and one road' and 'Eurasia Initiative', we have more reasons to believe that Chinese and South Korean clothing seminars will generate more exciting resonances, will inspire more artistic spark, achieve more innovation, an will be win-win for both sides!

The theme of this international fashion exhibition is "Korea-China, Traditional Clothing & Culture". I feel honored to hold the exhibition here in China, where cultural heritage and innovation exist together.

It is a great pleasure to hold this year's conference for Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry-Academy in historic Xi'an, China. I would like to express my gratitude to Xi'an Polytechnic Univ. for the invitation.

It is said that beauty of art is fortified through interacting with other worlds. And not until we embrace diversity and autonomy, can we share the beauty of art.

I do hope the exhibition will be a great opportunity to share creativity, culture, and aesthetic value of each nation. Moreover, I expect this event to contribute to the development of culture and fashion industry for both Korea and China.

I really appreciate members of Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry-Academy for your participation. Also, I express sincere thanks to Xi'an Polytechnic Univ. staffs for supporting us. I applaud you for the passion and effort you have shown.
