We would like to invite you to attend "The Korean Society of Costume(KSC) • The Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry Academy (KOCHIF) International Special Co-Exhibition in Laos”. This Exhibition is co-organized by KSC, KOCHIF, and the Lao Handicraft Association (LHA), and co-sponsoered by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism of the Republic of Korea, and the Embassy of the Republic Korea to the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Korea and Laos have long had diplomatic ties for over 20 years since 1995, and more recently the two countries have been actively engaged in exchange activities in a wide range of fields such as economy, culture and society. This Co-Exhibition in Laos, one of the key logistics hubs in the ASEAN region, will serve as a bridge between the traditional costumes, textiles and fashion cultures of the two countries, and we sincerely hope that this will contribute to more cultural exchanges between the two going forward.
Ever since its establishment in 1975, SC has represented the fashion and clothing industry in Korea over the past four decades It has annually hosted seminars and KOSCO exhibitions to facilitate academic exchange forums among experts from the academy and the industry.
KOCHIF was established to promote various exchange activities between the fashion industry and the academy, and it has continued to make efforts to expand international exchange activities among East Asian countries including Korea, China and Hongkong.
This Co-Exhibition will display costumes and accessories inspired by the traditional cultures and images of Korea and Laos under the three themes- "Historically Researched Costume Design", "Casual Hanbok and Fashion Products" and "Fashion Art." We hope this Co-Exhibition will offer an invaluable opportunity to remind each other of the meaning of the two countries' cultural exchanges expressed on the costumes. We sincerely wish Korea and Laos to further exchange activities in this fashion field going forward.
We would like to thank you for your participation, and, especially, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Lao Peoples Democratic Republic, Lao National Museum and our partner, LHA for your great support for this Exhibition.

Dear the South Korean ambassador to the Lao Peoples Democratic Republic Kim Soo Gwon. the president of the Korean Socicty of Costume Cho Woo Hyun, the president of the Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry Academy Kim Sook Jin, and the diplomatic corps and its officials,
As the president of Lao Handicraft Association, I am very pleased to co-host this International Special Co-Exhibition in Laos with the Korean Society of Costume and the Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry Academy. Two companies specializing in Lao traditional dress participate in this exhibition.
First is Khamai, a silk network company which is a professional in Lao traditional clothes. Second is Xi’an Silk, which is also a manufacturer specializing in the field.
The partnership between Laos and the South Korea has been continuously promoted. Two countries are cooperating in various fields such as economy, sports, and cultural exchanges including private investment. The important fact is that the cooperation has been achieved successfully, Moreover it has established more cordial relations between Koreans and Laotians, I also have some lose Korean friends.
Thus I believe this exhibition has significant meanings. It is expected to contribute to mutual understanding by strengthening friendly relations between the people of the two countries.
