On this occasion, the 2018th China-Korea International Fashion Exchange Conference will be held in our university. On behalf of the teachers and students of the Textile and Clothing Institute, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to our friends from home and abroad who have come.
Costume is a unique human labor achievement. It is not only the crystallization of material civilization but also the meaning of spiritual civilization. Costume culture is an important part of social culture. With the development of economy, science and technology and culture, the cultural significance of clothing has become increasingly prominent. This meeting held a good opportunity for the exchange and cooperation between the two schools, and it has a positive significance for the exchange of dress culture between China and South Korea.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the Chairman of the Hanzhong Clothing Industry and Research Association, professors and students at Hongik University for their dedication to this event.

The Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry-Academy would like to offer you our sincere congratulations on hosting 2018 International Costume Exhibition with Anhui Polytechnic University.

Having started as an academic meeting in 1997, the Korea & China Association of Fashion Industry-Academy has grown into a leading organisation that carries out fashion exchanges between Korea and China based on its network with leading Asian universities and fashion companies. Celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, the International Costume Exhibition will host a joint fashion show in Anhui province, China with the invitation of Anhui Polytechnic University to show the stage where different cultures are combined.

Keeping the cultural exchange for a long time on a private level is difficult, though it is very significant in a cultural way. I would like to send my respect and appreciation to the members who have a firm vision and have been in the forefront of cultural exchanges between Korea and China, despite the various external circumstances.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the ‘2030 Cultural Vision’ this year and had the motto of ‘a culture with people and a life with art’. I think that fashion is ‘the closest cultural art to our lives’ and is the key medium for enhancing the sensibility of individuals and society. In order to make our life more beautiful and enriched through fashion culture, the Government of the Republic of Korea will fully give our support the same with those who are here today.

I wish everyone who visited this event from various countries including the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Russia enjoy getting inspiration from watching the future of the fashion industry. Thank you so much.

The Korea & China Association of Fashion industry academy has been 25 years since its establishment by our academic superiors, who made an accurate forecast in potentiality of Chinese fashion industry. This year, we celebrate that our association was named to become a registered corporation, officially approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea. I cannot stress how gratefully I am honored to occupy the position for president of the association.

The Korea & China Association of Fashion industry academy has been holding annual exhibitions and academic conferences in many cities in China, in order to pursue the nation’s academic cooperation and development in fashion industry. This year, our conference was invited to Anhui University of China, to present international fashion exhibition, seminars and fashion show. I would like to express my  sincere gratitude for the professors of Anhui University and all cooperators who have made a great effort for this valuable event.

Our Association, with a cooperative relationship between academic and industrial field of China and Korea, has been focusing on establishing the infrastructure to incubate young talented individuals for the upcoming era. It is my honor to express gratitude and to warmly welcome all of the friends who have come a long way from both home and abroad. We believe this China-Korea international fashion exchange convention will be a good chance to promote cultural exchange between the two universities .

The evolution of every nation’s dress cultures, from ethnic garments to modern fashion, is essentially a process of dissemination, acceptance and integration. Dress cultures bear the characteristics of both national regionality and regional connectivity. As neighbours separated only by a strip of water, the dress cultures of Chinaand Koreashare common themes, yet both are unique in their own way. We hope that this cultural exchange will create new sparks of inspiration and promote development of the fashion industry.

I would like to conclude by earnestly thanking president of Korea-China Society for clothing and production,professors and students of Hongik Universityfor their full support which made this event possible. I wish you all much progress and growth by communicating and learning from each other. May this convention be a great success.

I’m very pleased to hold the 2018 international fashion show and invited exhibition in Anhui Polytechnic University in Wuhu, China.

As the honorary president in Korea-China Association of Fashion Industry-Academy, I’d like to express my appreciation of the invitation from Anhui Polytechnic University and the great support from all participants.

This year’s theme is chosen as “Convergence” and it is completely aligned with the trend since it is said that the present is the time of Convergence.

Especially the 2018 international fashion show and invited exhibition is the meaningful international event thanks to participation of fashion designers from 7 different countries – Hong Kong, Mongolia, Russia, Japan and USA as well as Korea and China.

I do believe that this event will be a great opportunity to share culture, creativity and aesthetic value. Moreover, I expect this to contribute to the development of culture and fashion industry for both Korea and China.
